Abumi, a pair of stirrups.
Era: Middle Edo period.

Imposing pair of stirrups called Abumi, a kind of ancient Japanese harness. Decolated with mother-of-pearl work. Cherry blossoms patterns are inlaied with silver. Probably once belonged to a daimyo; a feudal lord.

An elaborated ceramic ornament. Ordinally it had a rid. Made in China, circa Sung dynasty.
