Katana in Shirasaya with Gunto Koshirae (NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature: Buzen koku Toyotsu ju Kino Masahiro
Meiji 4 nen 8 gatsu-hi (August, 1871)

The blade was polished .
Blade length : 63.8 cm or 25.1 inches.
Sori : 1.3 cm or 0.51 inches.
Width at the hamachi : 2.99 cm or 1.17 inches.
Wide at the Kissaki : 2.02 cm or 0.79 inches.
Kasane : 0.72 cm or 0.28 inches.
Era : Meiji era. (August, 1871)
Shape : This blade is wide and massive Katana.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with Jinie attach, and it looks like a Muji hada.
Hamon : Koniedeki tight Gunome midare like Togari-ba. This hamon looks like Kanemoto.

Special feature : Masahiro was swordsmith in Awa province,
and he lived in Kokura area.
He was born as son of gunsmith family, and he studied making sword in Bizen province.
And he was hired by Ogasawara clan of Buzen province.
This blade is halthy without Kizu or flaw, and blade has been polished.
And Shirasaya is new one.

Koshirae : Army Gunto Koshirae.(There are cracks on Saya.)
