Appraisal Quiz

Answer #2 previous answer is Bungo Takada Jyu Fujiwara Saneyuki.

Generally, at the appraisal paper, bungo swords are not popular but
It is important subject for learning Bungo school. Bungo Takada Jyu Fujiwara Saneyuki was working at Bungo privince. Bungo school was not so famous like hizen blade.
But I think you have seen Bungo blade many times.
Generally speaking Bungo swords are not good reputation compare with Hizen blade.
Daimyo Nabeshima was keeping the secret of swordsmaking hizen swords.
In fact,Takada school was located in next to Hizen province.
So Takada sword makerfs hamon is very similar with Hizen sword.
But the biggest difference is the Jigane.
This blade is quite similar with 2nd generation Hizen oumi daijyo fujiwara Tadahiro itself.
Why Takada school which is located next hizen province, big different jigane is that Daimyo Nabeshima kept as the top secret for making fantastic hizen steal.
Daimyo Nabeshima family sold many swords as a product in order to make a lot of profit.
I think for making swords especially kawagane(surface steal) was used Nanbantetsu and Japanese Tamahagane mixed.
At that time, it is very hard to import Nanbantetsu in Japan.
Probably Daimyo nabeshima imported this kind of iron from oversea.
Sword maker in Hizen province used this expensive steal at that time.
The price must be very expensive.
So It is thought that2nd generation Tadahiro used it carefully.
He put mach cheaper steal and covered and wrapped by very fine thin kawagane.
Of course Takada school who was a neighbor hizen province must have studied a production method but couldnft succeeded.
This blade is quite as same as Tadahiro except Jigane.
It is very important to memorize the difference of both Takada and Hizen.
Sometimes we see the Gimei hizen swords which were used by Takada swords.
If you answer Takada school not mentioned whole name, it is correct answer. It is impossible to write correct answer which sword smith made by watching pictures and sentence.
