Special feature :The Ichimonji School had been prospered in Bizen province from early Kamakura to Namboku-cho period. It was one of the two principal Schools prospered in Bizen provinvce ranked with Osafune School. The name Ichimonji was derived from a Chinese character means one or the first that was used as a kind of signature inscribed on the tang. The Ichimonji School was divided broadly into four categories: classical Ko-Ichimonji in the early years, brilliant Fukuoka-Ichimonji of the middle period, remarkably brilliant Yoshioka-Ichimonji in the last period and Katayama-Ichimonji. |
