Special feature : Rai Kunimitsu was a son or a pupil of Rai Kunitoshi in
Yamashiro province. It is said that Kunimitsu was very skillful
swordsmith especially forging tanto. His dated swords from
1326 to 1351 still survive. It was a long period of time in those days
and future research will segregate generations.

This blade is typically Rai-Kunimitsu blade, and it is fantastic Deki.
Unfortunately, there is Ware around lower area of Monouchi.
But this blade has gotten NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper, and
we recommend this blade.

Hint:

Blade length : 66.03 cm or 25.99 inches.
Sori : 1.35 cm or 0.53 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.84 cm or 1.11 inches.
Wide at the Kissaki : 1.88 cm or 0.74 inches.
Kasane : 0.77 cm or 0.30 inches.

Shape : This blade was wide and thick Katana with Sori and rather long Kissaki.
On the both sides, Hi is engraved. And Suken and Dokko and Bonji are engraved in Hi of Sashi-omote.
Futasuji-hi is engraved in Hi of Sashi-ura.
Jitetsu : Itame hada and Mokume hada are mixed with Jinie and Chikei attach. It is clear Jitetsu.
Hamon : Koniedeki Gunome midare and Choji midare are mixed with much Ashi.
There are much Sunagashi and Kinsuji in Ha.
Boshi is Midarekomi and tight Kaeri style.

Special features :
Nakago is engraved with Keshoyasuri style.
This blade doesn’t have Utsuri.
There much Sunagashi and Kinsuji in Ha. And Ashi is long.
This swordsmith mainly made Muji-hada, but this blade is Mokume and Itame mix Jitetsu.
