Appraisal Quiz

Special feature : Yukitsugu was a sword smith on Ko-Aoe school.
And it is said that Yukitsugu was a student of Aoe Moritsugu.
The Aoe School had been prospered at the lower reaches of the Takanashi river in Bichu province.
The works before middle Kamakura period is called “Ko-Aoe”.

This blade has some tired parts on Jitetsu.
But singature is very clear and it is very precious.

Blade length : 25.4 cm or 10.00 inches.
Sori : 0.2 cm or 0.07 inches.
Mekugi: 3
Width at the hamachi : 2.49?cm or 0.98 inches.
Kasane : 0.36 cm or 0.14 inches.

Shape : Regular sized, thin Hirauchi style Tanto.
Su-ken is engraved on the Sashi-omote side.
Futasuji-hi is engraved on the Sashi-ura side.
Jitetsu : Ko-itame works very well, and covered in little Jinie.
Hamon : Ko-nie based, Gunome midare become Hitatsura hamon.
Boshi is tight and round Kaeri style.

Special features : Kaeri on the Boshi is deep, and reach Munemachi.
It is this school’s feature.
This school is well known for nice Hitatsura.
