Appraisal Quiz

Special features : Rai-kunitoshi was swordsmith at Yamashiro province
in the late Kamakura period.
It is said that Raikunitoshi was son of Rai-kuniyuki.
There are Nenki from Shouou 2 nen (1289) to Genkyou 1 nen (1321).
His works’ feature is Jitetsu with Nie-Utsuri , and Suguha and Ko-midare mixed Hamon.

This blade has typically his features. And condition is very nice.
This excellent Tanto was owned by Mori family.
And this Tanto has passed the 54th NBTHK Juyo Token in last year.
Additionally, Makie Box is fantastic !!

Hint:

Blade length : 30.8 cm or 12.12 inches.
Sori : 0.2 cm or 0.07 inches.
Mekugi: 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.67 cm or 1.05 inches.
Kasane : 0.56 cm or 0.22 inches.

Shape : Ubu-Mumei. Rather wide and rather thick shaped, Hira-uchi style Sun-nobi Tanto, with little Sori.
Bou-hi is engraved on the Sashi-omote side, and Futasuji-hi is engraved on the Sashi-ura side.
Jitetsu : Itame and Mokume are mixed, and covered in Jinie and small Chikei.
There is faint Utsuri on Jitetsu.
Hamon : Nie based, Kogunome midare. There are Sunagashi and Yubashiri in Ha.
Boshi is Notare and Saki-ichimonji-kaeri style on the Sashi-omote side.
And rather tight shape on the Sashi-ura side.
