Special feature : Sikkake school was founded by Norinaga.
And Shikkake continued some generations.
Norinaga’s blade was similar to Yamato-den blades.
But series of Ko-gunome is Norinaga’s characteristic. And he made also Suguha.
Shikkake School of Yamato province prospered present Tenri City in Nara pref.
The name Shikkake was from Shikkake-ishi (the stone pedestal settling
down the portable shrine to take a rest on the way of religious services.).

Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.19 cm or 1.25 inches.
Wide at the Kissaki : 2.45 cm or 0.96 inches.
Kasane : 0.76 cm or 0.29 inches.
Shape : Ubu-Nakago. Wide and thick Wakizashi with Sori and rather long Kissaki.
Bou-hi are engraved on the both sides of blade.
Jitetsu : Itame hada covered in Jinie and small Chikei.
Hamon : Around Hamachi is Suguha, and change to Nie based Gunome midare.
There are many Ashi and Sunagashi and Kinsuji in Ha.
Nioikuchi is very deep and Hamon is very uneven.
There are Tobiyaki.
Boshi is Hakikake and Sansaku style with Notare.
