Appraisal Quiz

Answer previous answer was Yamato Daijo Fujiwara Masanori (the 1st)
(Shinto-Josaku, Ryowazamono, Echizen province.)
(NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Special feature : Yamato Daijo Fujiwara Masanori was a swordsmith in about Gen-na era.(about 1615)
And it is said that he was a descendant of Sanjo Yoshinori.
He was born in Miyazu area of Tango province.
He moved to Kyoto after he studied under his father Norimitsu.
After he moved to Echizen province, and he became a hired swordsmith of Matsudaira Tadanao.
His blades are Ryowazamono rank and very cut well, and he made
many fantastic swords and engraving on blades.

This blade has Umegane around 30cm part from Kissaki of Sashi-ura side.
But it is inconspicuous. And Jitetsu and Hamon are very high quality.
Especially, dynamic Gunome midare with activities is very attractive.
This Hamon is typically Masanori’s Hamon.
Koshirae is rather nice condition, and this blade has passed NBTHK Hozon Paper.
We recommend this nice sword.
