The balde is polished, in a shirasaya.
Blade length: 68.5cm or 27.0inches.
Sori: 1.9cm or0.75inch.
Width at the hamachi:3.322 cm or 1.3 inches.
Width at the Kissaki: 2.71cm or 1.1inches.
Thickness at the hamachi: 0.73cm or 0.29nch.
Era: Showa period.
Shape: A shinogi-zukuri katana, chu-kissaki, iori-mune. The file pattern on the tang is elaborately dressed kesho-yasuri.
The blade is wide and thick healthy blade.
Jitetsu: Small Itame hada well grained with much Jinie attach.
Hamon: Niedeki Gunome midare and Cyoji midare hamon mix and in Ha, there are many Kinsuji and Sunagashi scatter in Ha.

 

Kuniie was born in 1893 in Ibaraki pref. He entered to the Nihon-to Tanren Denshu Sho in 1932 established by Kurihara Hikosaburo Nobuhide. Kuniie was in Kasama Shigetsuguユs clan. In 1938, Kuniie started to work as a master swordsmith of Jumei-tosho at Itabashi Zohe-sho, a plant for supplying arms to army during wartime in Itabashi-Ku, Tokyo. Kuniie was very good at the Soden-Bizen style. He passed away in 1970. His grandchildren, Kuniie and Yoshindo are also famous contemporary swordsmiths.
The blade is healthy and sttractive Hamon.
