Showa Kinoto-Tori doshi Shoshu Kichijitsu Kanzan Shirusu Kao.
(Shikkake Norinaga. This blade was made in late Kamakura period.
And blade condition and quality are very nice.
Blade lengh is 70.8 cm or 27.87 inches.
Mr.Kanzan wrote this Sayagaki in 1945.)

Width at the hamachi : 3.12 cm or 1.22 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.80 cm or 0.70 inches.
Kasane : 0.76 cm or 0.29 inches.
Era : Late Kamakura period.
Shape : Osuriage-mumei. Wide and thick and healthy Katana with rather deep Sori and rather long Kissaki.
Jitetsu : Itame hada works very well, and covered in Jinie and many Chikei.
Hamon : Ko-nie based, Suguha. There are many Ashi and Uchinoke in Ha.

Special feature : Sikkake school was founded by Norinaga.
And Shikkake continued some generations.
Shikkake School of Yamato province prospered present Tenri City in Nara pref.
The name Shikkake was from Shikkake-ishi (the stone pedestal settling
down the portable shrine to take a rest on the way of religious services.).

This blade has wide Shinogi. And there are Uchinoke in Ha.
And this blade has Gunome in Ha. Therefore this blade was
appraised as Shikkake.
Blade shape is very wide and thick, and condition is very healthy without Kizu or flaws.
