The blade was polished .
Blade length : 73.2 cm or 28.81 inches.
Sori : 1.8 cm or 0.70 inches.
Mekugi:
Width at the hamachi :2.99 cm or 1.17 inches.
Wide at the Kissaki : 2.35cm or 0.92 inches.
Kasane : 0.75 cm or 0.29 inches.
Era : Late Edo period.(December, 1865)
Shape : This blade is wide and thick Katana with long Kissaki.
This blade was cut shortened .
There are Bouhi on the both side of blade.
Jitetsu : Itamehada well grained with Jinie attach, and looks like Mujihada.
Hamon : Niedeki Gunome-midare. In Ha, there are ling Ashi.
Special feature : Moritoshi was swordsmith in Suo province Iwakuni area.
He studied under Chou-unsai Tsunatoshi.
And he was ratained by Yoshikawa family in Iwakuni area.
His blades’ feature is well grained Itamehada like Muji-hada.
And this sword has typical Moritoshi’s Jitetsu.
Koshirae :
Tsuba : On the round iron Tsuba, flowers are engraved. The rim is upped.
Fuchikashira : On the Shakudo plate, Cherry blossom flowers are engraved with gold color Iroe.
Saya : Black Shinobue Saya.
Menuki : On the Shakudo plate, bamboo grass is engraved with gold color Iroe.
