Katana: In Koshirae. (NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho Paper)

Signature: Mumei (unsigned) attributed as Kongobyoe .

The blade is polished, with a gold plated tachi-habaki, in a koshirae.
Blade length : 68.3 cm or 26.88 inches.
Sori : 1.7 cm or 0.66 inches.
Mekugi: 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.97 cm or 1.16 inches.
Wide at the Kissaki : 1.96 cm or 0.77 inches.
Kasane : 0.62 cm or 0.24 inches.

Era: middle Muromachi period.
Shape: A shinogi-zukuri katana, longish chu-kissaki, iori-mune. There are an honor wound on the part of mune.
Jitetsu: itame hada.
Hamon: Suguha hamon. There are Ko-ashi in Ha.

Special features: Kongobyoe was the name of a swordsmith group
prospered in Chikuzen province, present Fukuoka pref.
Representative swordsmiths were; Moritaka, Moritsuna, Morisada and Yoshimori.

Koshirae
Saya :Kawarinuri Saya. A wood saya is wrapped with Japanese brocade.(There are some chipped parts.)
Tsuba: An unsigned iron aoi-gata tsuba.
Menuki: On the Shakudo plate, arrows are engraved with gold color iroe.
Fuchi: On the iron plate, Kaon (Familiy crest ) is engraved painted with gold color iroe.
kashira: Made with iron.
