Naginata: Tokubetsu Hozon paper.
Signature: Taikei Naotane Bunka 7 nem Jujo.

The blade is polished in great Shirasaya.
Blade length: 38.6cm or 15.197inches.
Sori: 2.5cm or 0.984inchs.
Width at the hamachi: 3.67cm or 1.445inches.
Thickess at the hamachi: 0.8cm or 0.315inchs.
Era: Lately Edo period.(1810)
Shape: The blade is wide and thick healthy blade.
Jitetsu:(texture) Itame hada well grained with much Jinie attach which is called Hijiki hada with much Chikei appear.
Hamon: Nie-deki, Gunome midare hamon and Nioikuchi thick wich is called Sosyu-Den style. In Hamon, there are many Sunagashi and Kinsen work.

  Special feature:Naotane, born Shoji Minobei in about 1778 at Yamagata in Dewa province.He went to Edo and become a student of Suishinshi Masahide. The Akimoto family in Yamagata province retained Naotane around about 1812.
Naotane got the title Chikuzen-Daijo in 1821and stepped up to the Mino (No) Kami in 1848. Naotane passed away in 1857, aged 79.
Naotane could make a variety of styles: Bizen-den, Soshu-den, Yamashiro-den and Yamato-den. He was good at Soshu-den in particular. His swords are ranked at the highest rank called Saijo-saku in the last days of the Tokugawa shogunate.
The sayagaki was done by a national human treasure the Honami Nissyu.
