Signature: Mumei attributed as Nio.
Sayagaki :Jyuyo token No19th. Nio Tadasi Oosuriage Mumei nari Jidai:Kamakura
makki nari Tenkei saku.
Syowa Saru Tora Nen Wasyu Hachigatsu Kichijitsu Kanzan shi.
Explanation: The blade is Jyuyo Toiken No 19th.
cut shortened :late Kamakura period. 1974(Syowa 49th) summer lucky day
Kanzan wrote on his diary.
The blade was polished .
Blade length : 64.7 cm or 25.4 inches.
Sori : 2.3 cm or 0.90 inches.
Width at the hamachi : 2.8 cm or 1.1 inches.
Wide at the Kissaki : 1.9 cm or 0.74 inches.
Kasane : 2.83 cm or 1.11 inches.
Era : Late Kamakura period.
Shape : The blade is regular sized Oosuriage Mumei(cut shortened).
Jitetsu :Itame hada well graied with much Jinie attach with Chikei work.
Hamon : Niedeki Suguha and small Gunome midare with thick Nioikuchi.
In Ha, there are Sunagashi and Kinsuji work. |

Special feature : The founder of the Nio school was Kiyotsuna and continued
this school to Edo period.
Nio school is has Yamato style convined.
I think the blade fully show the Nio style.
The blade is pretty nice condition.
Koshirae :
Tsuba :On the round shaped iron Tsuba, some flowers are engraved.
Fuchikashira :On the Shibuichi plate, some autmn grasses and a swan are
engraved.
Saya : black roiro saya.
Menuki : a flower is engraved by Syakudo plate.
NBTHK 19th juyo paper : Aoi Art estimatin paper : whole Oshigata.
