Tanto in Shirasaya with Koshirae

Signature: Hayama Minamoto Masahiro saku kore.
Taisho 8nen 3gatsu Kichijitsu. (March,1919)

The blade was polished .
Blade length : 26.04 cm or 10.25 inches.
Sori : 0 cm or 0 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.28 cm or 0.89 inches.
Kasane : 0.52 cm or 0.20 inches.
Era : Taisho era. (March,1919)
Shape : Regular sized, good shape Tanto with Uchi-zori.
Jitetsu : Very tight Koitame, and Jinie attach. It looks like a Muji hada.
Hamon : Koniedeki, Notare and Gunome midare are mixed.
Boshi is Notare and acuate Kaeri style.

Special feature : Hayama Minamoto Masahiro (Hayama Enshin) was
a student of Suzuki Masao.
He passed away February 4th in 1920. Therefore this blade was made
in one year before his death.
But blade quality is very nice.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : Iron Hamidashi Tsuba. On the rim, rope pattern is engraved.
Fuchi: On the Shakudo plate, river and bamboo grass are egnraved and colored with gold.
Kashira : On the Shakudo plate, Kirin is engraved, and colored with gold.
Saya : Black colored Saya.
Menuki : On the Shakudo plate, moon and rabbit are engraved, and colored with gold and silver.
Kozuka Kogatana : On the iron plate, river and bamboo baskets are engraved, and colored with gold.
