Blade length : 25.2 cm or 9.92 inches.
Sori : 0 cm or 0 inches.

Width at the hamachi : 2.51 cm or 0.98 inches.
Kasane : 0.67 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Late Edo period.
Shape : Blade shape is massive, and Kanmuri-otoshi style Tanto.
Jitetsu : Textured Ko-itame. There are some rough skin parts, and rusts.
Hamon : Ko-nie based, Suguha and Notare mixed.

Special feature : The signature “Yoshisada” is engraved.
I think this Tanto was made by Yoshisada who was a swordsmith in Satsuma province.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : Iron Hamidashi Tsuba.
Fuchikashira : On the Shakudo Ishime plate, cranes and nut-pine trees are engraved, with gold color.
Saya : Black colored Saya with line pattern. There are a few chipped parts.
Menuki : On the Shakudo plate, nut-pine tree is engraved, with gold color.
