Wakizashi in Shirasaya with Koshirae (NBTHK Hozon paper)
Signature: Echizen Kuni Shimosaka

Blade length : 38.8 cm or 15.27 inches.
Sori : 0.4 cm or 0.15 inches.
Width at the hamachi : 3.13 cm or 1.23 inches.
Kasane : 0.6 cm or 0.24 inches.
Era : Early Edo period.
Shape : The blade is wide and thick healthy Hirauchi style wakizashi.
Jitetsu : Tight Itame hada covered in Jinie and Chikei.
Hamon :Nie based, Gunome midare and Togari gunome midare mix.
In Ha, there are small Sunagashi and Kinsuji work.
Special feature : Echizen Kuni Shimosaka was a group of Yasutsugu school.
This blade’s Hamon looks like a Yasutsugu Hamon.
It is rather difficult to distinguish who made this sword but the quality is very nice.

Koshirae:
Tsuba:On the shibuichi plate, grasses and river are engraved.
Menuki: On the brass plate, crane is engraved.
Saya: Black Roiro-Saya. There are some flaws.
Fuchi: On the Shibuichi plate, bamboo grass are engraved.
Kashira: Made with Suaka copper.
