The blade was polished.
Blade length : 54.3 cm or 21.37 inches.
Sori : 1.5 cm or 0.59 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.91 cm or 1.14 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.03 cm or 0.79 inches.
Kasane : 0.66 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Early Edo period. About Jo-o era.(about 1652.)
Shape : This blade is regular sized, and healthy Wakizashi with Sori. It is nice shape.
Jitetsu : Very tight Ko-itame hada, and Ko-mokume are mixed, and Jinie attach.
There is Utsuri and Mune-yaki.
Hamon : Koniedeki Kogunome midare and Kochoji midare are mixed.
There are many small Ashi and Yo, and there are Sunagashi in Ha.
Boshi is Midarekomi style.
Special feature : First generation Sukehiro was born at Sesshu Tsuda
province and moved to Osaka and studied under the sword maker first
generation Kawachi no Kami Kunisuke.
First generation Sukehiro was adoration of Ichimonji style.
This blade looks like Yoshioka Ichimonji itself.
The blade is remarked as Saijo Owazamono ranking(The most cut well sword in Shinto blades)
I think this sword is very healthy and wonderful sword.
Historical back ground: After the Sekigahara war, Tokugawa shogun
crashed enemy Daimyo and clans.
So a lot of samurai were lost jobs and created dissatisfaction and the
event happened which is called “Keian no hen” by Yui Shosetsu and Marubashi Chuya.
Koshirae :
Tsuba : Koshu Hikone ju Mogarashi Soten sei.(not guaranteed)
On the round Shakudo nanako Tsuba, Kiku flowers are engraved.
Rim is covered, and this Tsuba has 2 Hitsu-ana.
Fuchikashira : Kiku flowers and Choji are engraved with gold color.
Saya : Black colored Saya.
(with another Black colored Saya, but missfitting Saya)
Menuki : On the Shakudo plate, man with flower basket is engraved, and colored with gold.
Tsukamaki: Made with leather.
