Wakizashi in Shirasaya with Koshirae (NBTHK Hozon Paper)

The blade was polished .
Blade length : 50.2 cm or 19.76 inches.
Sori : 1.3 cm or 0.51 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.77 cm or 1.09 inches.
Wide at the Kissaki : 1.90 cm or 0.74 inches.
Kasane : 0.62 cm or 0.24 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period. (August, 1501)
Shape : This blade is regular sized Wakizashi with Sori. It is good shape.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained and Mokume hada mixed with Jinie.
And Bizen Utsuri appear.
Hamon : Koniedeki Gunome midare and Choji midare are mixed.
There are Kinsuji and Sunagashi and Ashi and Yo in Ha.
And there is Muneyaki on the Shinogi.

Special feature : Munemitsu was a swordsmith in Bizen province.
He was a son of Rokuro-Zaemon Sukemitsu.
He traveled around some provinces with his brother, and he made some swords with brother.
After his brother’s death, he signed as Jirozaemon-i.
It is said that he taught Akamatsu Masanori who was lord of castle Mimasaka.

This blade is very healthy without Kizu and flaw.
And Zokumyou signature is very rare, therefore we recommend this sword strongly.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : The round shape iron Tsuba.
Fuchikashira : On the Shakudo plate, wave design is egnraved with silver color.
Saya : Kawari nuri Saya
Menuki : Dragon is engraved with gold color.
