Width of the blade : 2.30 cm or 0.90 inches.
Kasane : 0.93 cm or 0.36 inches.
Era : Early Edo period.
Shape : The blade is long hira Sankaku Yari style.
Jitetsu :Masame hada quite well grained with Jinie attach.
Hamon : Niedeki Suguha hamon with ashi work.
Special feature : asatsune was born at Nosyu Nando province and named
Taro suke.
At tensyo 19th (1591) he moved to Kiyosu castle area.
He worked actively for his master Daimyo Fukushima Masanori,
and after that he worked for Daimyo Matsudaira Tadayoshi who was son
of the Tokugawa Ieyasu as Okakaeko (making sword smith).
He got 100 Koku salary.
He is quite well known sword smith for making Yari, Naginata and Tanto.
He made very few swords during fis life.
This Yari is fantastic Jigane and Hamon that was made by Masatsune.
He said his sword name for the first time as Kanetsune befor the Masatsune.
On the Tang, the signature is written as Gassaku mei Masatsune and Kanetsune.
It is rather difficlt to say the reason why 2 signatures are
mentined.
But right now we understand as Gassaku mei.
